From the Field to the Throne – Day 12: God Restores What Was Lost
Scripture:
“So David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away… and there was nothing lacking.” — 1 Samuel 30:18-19 (KJV)
What the enemy took…
God gave back.
After the devastation at Ziklag…
After the loss, the pain, the uncertainty…
David didn’t stay defeated.
He sought the Lord.
He followed God’s direction.
And then—he pursued.
And when it was all said and done…
David recovered everything.
Not some things…
Not most things…
Everything.
That’s the kind of God we serve.
A restoring God.
A redeeming God.
A God who brings back what was lost.
But notice something powerful:
David didn’t just sit and wait—
He inquired of the Lord and then acted in faith.
There’s a balance:
Trust God…
But also move when He tells you to move.
Some of us have experienced loss…
Lost joy…
Lost peace…
Lost opportunities…
Lost relationships…
But this word today is simple and powerful:
God is able to restore.
And not just restore—
He can bring you back stronger, wiser, and more grounded than before.
What looked like an ending…
Was really the setup for recovery.
Life Application:
-
Don’t let loss define your future—let God redefine it.
-
Seek God before making your next move.
-
When God gives direction—move in faith, not fear.
-
Believe that restoration is possible, even when it feels unlikely.
-
Trust that God can return what was lost in ways you didn’t expect.
Reflection:
What have you lost that you need to trust God to restore?
Prayer:
Lord, You are a restoring God. What I thought was gone forever is still in Your hands. Help me to trust You in my loss and give me the courage to follow Your direction. Restore what has been taken, and strengthen my faith in the process. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
